Reconsider Redistricting of the 82nd
I am a concerned citizen of the 82nd District and I feel it is important NOT to divide our district but to leave it intact as it is. We are mostly rural communities with some very small towns. We share many of our local community services with Junita County, including some of our senior citizen services. We would be of little consequence or consideration if tied into more populated and more urban areas. Their concerns and areas of importance would not align with ours. And since their population is greater, they would receive the attention of the representatives as their power of voting would be greater than ours. We need to remain as we are. Currently our district makes sense as it takes into account established boundaries already in place (county lines/school district/municipalities). Also, having access to the services provided by our own, local representatives and offices is very important and vital to our community. Driving the better part of an hour to see a representative is a burden no business owner or citizen should be imposed to do. Especially our senior citizen community. Please keep our district intact and allow our representatives to continue to serve their local communities, where they know and care about the needs of their constituents.
