Discriminatory District
I made a few testimonies regarding my region and areas. During the last hearing I added this verbally and spontaneously; so I am writing it. The current redistricting is not only eliminating Rep. Chris Rabb as my state representative, but it would cause representatives of adjacent districts who work closely together for the betterment of the entire NW area to run against each other. In this case my neighborhood would be put together with other parts of the NW that have different demographics. The needs are different with one side being mixed income properties and the other primarily family homes. That is just one of many examples. There are other needs that are different and were addressed when we were the 200th district. . It looks like it was created to lump the predominantly African American areas together. Though as a people we share some similar concerns, we are not homogeneous. Forcing us into one district is biased and unfair because not all of our needs can and will be met.
