Highly Improved House Map #178

The LRC proposed PA House map performs far better than the current gerrymandered map by almost every metric. It opens the door for more minority representation, levels the playing field between the two parties, and provides districts that make much more sense for the people who live in them. It is more compact, more contiguous and splits fewer counties and municipalities. While the map is still weighted towards Republicans (favors Republicans with a 99–104 split), it goes a long way toward undoing 20 years of distorted districts. In district #178, moving New Hope with Buckingham & Doylestown in the new #29 makes more sense, as it keeps communities of interest together. The LRC did an excellent job of redistricting the map.
