Opposition to Redistricting PA Dist. 33
Please refrain from redistricting the PA State House map that would split PA District 33. The effort to redistrict is clearly one of gerrymandering that would hurt the citizens currently served by State Rep. Carrie del Rosso. Oakmont, in particular, a small borough on the Allegheny River, would suffer by being lumped into District 32 with Verona, Penn Hills, and Plum. The other municipalities are much larger and have distinctly different issues (economic blight, crime, etc.), leaving Oakmont to be ignored. The current District 33 includes other smaller boroughs along the river whose issues are much more aligned with the problems Oakmont faces, thereby allowing a State Rep to do his or her job much more effectively. Our district has long been ignored by the previous State Rep, so it is imperative to have a representative who can actually focus on their constituents and help them. Creating confusion for the voters of a district does nothing to improve the quality of life, let alone the process of democracy in our district. Please register our severe objection to the plans to redistrict and gerrymander PA District 33.
