I would like to voice my concern and opposition to the redistricting effort for the state of PA The constitution of the state of PA guarantees that the redistricting should avoid municipal splits… There is good reason for this … we should not be dividing communities of interest because, in so doing, you are diluting the voice of that community by infusing the voting district with demographics that do not represent the original district definition. A case in point is Lancaster City which has been proposed to be split. By taking thousands of votes from a Democrat city and redistributing them into suburban voting districts you are taking away the Republican voice that clearly defines the suburban district. Additionally, the resulting Lancaster city will still retain its Democratic voice - the only difference is that you have diluted the suburban district. This is intentional and needs to be discussed in the open so that the will of the people is represented. This clearly violates the intent of the PA state constitution.
