Lehigh county Redistricting Map
The Democratic Preliminary Map is not in the best interest of the citizens of Lehigh County. The city of Allentown is unnecessarily broken into three district , which will dilute the Hispanic influence in any one district . This violates the spirit of the Voting Rights Act. The city of Bethlehem is also now split into two districts. There are also unnecessary splits in the townships and school districts (against state law). Upper Macungie is divided in half. North Whitehall is divided into two districts. PARKLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT is divided into 4 districts. East Penn School District is divided into three districts Salisbury School District is divided into three districts This map is just designed to cut out another Democrat district out of Lehigh County and does not offer a fair redistricting for the cities, townships and school districts. Alternative maps that have been proposed are Amanda Holt map and Fair District map. They are similar and abide by the Federal law for minority representation and Constitutional requirements.
