Redistricting

The proposed state legislative districts for Bucks County reduce competitive districts from 7 to 2. I feel it is significant that GOP State Reps., Frank Farry and Wendi Thomas oppose the plan, even though the plan may make reelection easier for them. My local newspaper, Bucks County Courier Times, in a recent op-ed makes the point that, "Competition breed excellence. It breeds innovation. It installs a sense of urgency to be effective and a means of accountability for those who aren't. Removing competition invites complacency. It invites inertia. It breed more of the same." I think the quote above makes a great point for looking again at the proposed maps and coming up with a plan that more fairly outlines districts between GOP, Democratic and Independent voters.
