critical need for our representative

I am writing about my concerns about the redistricting of my legislative district. The way it is currently defined makes much more sense than the redistricting plan, based on the unity of the neighborhoods in question. Redistricting will require that our fine representative, Chris Rabb, would have to run against another Democrat in the next election. We worked hard to get him elected, and he has earned a great deal of respect in our district. The legislature is already very Republican-heavy, and even if you are a Republican, you can look at history and find that the most effective governance has occurred when there was a true two-party system, and that the worst outcomes have been with a one-party heavy governing body. This includes the heavily Democratic City of Philadelphia. In either instance, one-party governing bodies breed corruption. We are already too polarized a state governing body. We do not need further polarization. We need more cooperation between parties, and truer representation of the state's population. The Republican re-districting plan amounts to disenfranchisement of a considerable amount of the State's population's representation. The last time Republicans tried their version of redistricting, our State Supreme shot it down and it resulted in a redistricting map that was very much to Republicans' distaste.
