Reason for not redistricting
Even though they are located in the same geographical area, the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem have historically been separate and unique communities. They were founded on different cultural, economic, and social roots. The proposal to merge portions of Allentown and Bethlehem to form one State senate seat would be a serious disservice to the residents of each respective city. Allentown and Bethlehem developed as separate Pennsylvania cities and they should be governed as separate and distinct entities.
