Petition to Tweak LRC Map
To: Pennsylvania Legislative Reapportionment Commission (LRC) Cresheim Village Neighbors has been a vibrant neighborhood association in Mt. Airy for the past 33 years. Among our strengths is our broad connection to Mt. Airy and neighboring Chestnut Hill. Both localities share a common history as well as civic and cultural ties. We frequent the same restaurants, shop at the same stores, and interact with one another on various levels. We are truly a community of interest. The LRC's proposed map does not reflect the above reality. Chestnut Hill and a portion of Mt. Airy would be paired with vastly different communities on the other side of the Wissahickon Valley (Roxborough, Manyunk, etc.). This does not make any sense geographically or demographically. We, the residents and friends of Cresheim Village Neighbors, urge you to consider the proposed Fair Districts PA People's Map, which retains all of Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill as a community of interest.
