Dear Legislative Reapportionment Board members, I am writing today in support of keeping the municipalities of Derry Township, Hummelstown Borough and Conewago Township represented by the same Pennsylvania Legislative District. These municipalities work together in many ways and operate under several shared services including Fire Protection, Sewer Services, and stormwater management programs. The Hummelstown Volunteer Fire Company provides fire protection services to the residents of Hummelstown Borough as well as provides supplemental services to Derry and Conewago Townships. The Derry Township Volunteer Fire Department also provides reciprocal support to both the Borough of Hummelstown and Conewago Townships. The Derry Township Municipal Authority provides sewer services to Conewago and Derry Townships and assists the Borough of Hummelstown on stormwater management programs. These communities work in tandem with one another in many ways and it would be deeply beneficial to the residents of these communities to continue to be represented together in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives to secure funding, seek assistance, and obtain support for projects of great impact.
