Redistricting Division and Requesting a No Vote

To those who have redrawn our Districts and those who will vote on these new proposed “Districts”, I write to ask that you reconsider these terrible matches of communities that your “shifts” have caused. You have taken like communities and mixed them with unlike communities. You have taken communities there have worked hand in hand for years, and left those in parts them out on an island away from their peers. It makes my wonder why you would lump these communities together, all while splitting some of these municipalities in half. For an example, the 60th District now crosses into Westmoreland County to steal parts of Lower Burrell. It takes away parts of the Kittanning and Ford City area, and relinquishes back to Butler parts of Buffalo Township, and cuts out other areas of Armstrong County that have been long standing 60th District areas. These communities all work together and live together, and have very little, if any, interaction with the new “proposed” Lower Burrell addition. Cutting communities apart by your new proposed “District” also is unsatisfactory and needs changed. As a long time resident and involved member of my community, I would ask you to reconsider this redistricting and consider adding back into the 60th District the parts of Armstrong and Butler counties that it has contained, and for many of us, the long term area represented by this District, so as to not segregate and separate our communities like this will. I also request you reconsider splitting communities by your redistributing lines, as you have done in this current hodgepodge of lines.
