Partisan Gerrymandering
I object to the proposed plan wholeheartedly and with great conviction. It is clear as day that the proposal is a blatant attempt to unconstitutionally restructure the legislature to favor a particular political pary. Decades of constitutional redistricting precedent should not be thrown out the window. I need to echo the thoughts of State Representative Rob Mercuri: "Whomever drafted the maps did so with a clear intent to support a Democratic advantage...No fewer than 12 Republican incumbents were drawn into each other's districts, pitting them in electoral dog fights next year while only two Democrats were treated similarly."
