Juniata County Redistricting - 82nd District

As an aggrieved citizen of Fayette Township, Juniata County, the 82nd District should remain intact. Our county has little in common with the communities we will be combined with while we are well aligned with those currently in our district. The school district covers the entire county and our children go to the same schools as the rest of the county. We need that continuity. Fayette and Monroe townships have the same interests as the rest of the county. We are rural, with mostly blue-collar jobs. We do not share the same medium income or interests as Selinsgrove, Mifflinburg, or Lewisburg. The southern part of Juniata County has little in common with Duncannon or Marysville. We travel to Mifflintown for town hall meetings or help with licenses and permits with our representatives. Our county officials are a conduit to state legislators. Most of Fayette township residents have a Mifflintown address. And, natural boundaries separate Fayette and Monroe Townships from Snyder County. It is just a bad idea to re-district parts of Juniata County and split those citizens away from like-minded and economically similar citizens.
